This is a fantastic value piece. Yes ok, its not true wood but all pieces are nicely made thinking of the value point.
Robustness - This is sturdy providing your not moving it around to significantly. The back panel that joins the left and correct upright sections is extremely little and only held in location by four 'small' metal cam dowels. The desk surface is also connected at the back by four metal cam dowels, and three lots of four 'short' screws at each and every of the front metal pillars. These are sufficient to hold the desktop in spot but I wouldn't want to try and lift the whole desk by its major! I wouldn't want to have to carry it far or put it under any unusual lateral stresses that a desk isn't generally developed to take.
Colour - Even though this is Walnut - it really is different from Walnut varnish sold by Homebase and the Walnut furniture sold by BQ. My daughter now has 3 shades of walnut in her room!
Computer system Enclosure - The enclosure is really tall but not particularly deep and even although there are substantial access holes in each of the left and ideal cupboard sections (with nicely moulded edges), my daughters Computer did not go back far sufficient to enable the door to be fitted. This isn't a key trouble as the piece still looks cool with out it.
Directions - Directions are clear and uncomplicated to recognize. It took me about two and a half hours to construct, mostly on my own. Having a 2nd individual on the market would make some parts a lot easier.
Packaging - The desk comes in 2 boxes each of which are well lined with polystyrene - The packaging is some of the most beneficial I have noticed .... BUT, despite this the back perfect hand corner of the desktop was slightly damaged. I couldn't be bothered to take this any further as the affected area is out of sight. Its usually impossible to know if the vendor sent the desk out with this harm, or the delivery firm caused it ... and you have at all times got the nause of arranging returns (Vs function) and the possible fight due to the fact you did not notice the damage when it was 1st delivered. I suppose thats the threat you take when you buy furniture web based!
Terrific product Though don't have to have the sliding keyboard tray, as I am working with a laptop. In no way-the-less I use it for my pad of paper.
