...are not words which necessarily spring to mind when describing this item - but functional and very good worth absolutely are! If you ever produced an airfix kit when you had been a child, you will relive that feeling of a cross in between exitement and slight aprehension as you unpack a seemingly endless quantity of pieces from the box. But just bear in mind to calmly lay out the thoughfully numbered pieces and check them off against the slighly daunting manual, then digest the assembly instructions prior to kicking off on your 3 hour adventure - then you can't go incorrect! The directions are generally pretty clear and logical and the suppliers especially thoughfully consist of a pack of spare parts in case they couldn't count or you carelessly loose a piece of hardware. No tools are required as the servicable screwdriver provided is all that you demand. I did however discover a pair of pliers helpful for screwing in the threaded studs and for tightening the nuts in a single spot. The end result is a robust and valuable function space with a passable wood imitation finish (essentially shrink wrapped plastic coated chipboard). Overall, a winner for the funds and absolutely superior to my ancient 'black ash' predecessor.
This is a great top quality desk, one persons evaluation said to "Secure the bottom of the drawers with one thing otherwise everything will fall out". But he is incorrect he missed component of the directions which show a screw becoming put at the bottom end of the drawers which stops the bottom panel sliding. I located two smaller items which I feel would have enhanced it. The to begin with getting the gap for the cables for the tower is on the inner side instead of getting on the back. Having a gap on the back would mean the tower can be pushed further back. I had to make some additional holes myself. The other is the prime component of the desk is not secured to the bottom part as nicely as it should really be. I bought a couple L shaped brackets and attached it from the bottom part of the desk to the keyboard sliders.
Apart from these few modifications it is a wonderful desk. It looked outstanding when full and has a good finish though the finish could of been completed a tiny greater in a few of the corners this is generally unnoticeable unless you appear quite closely. It took a whilst to total but was well worth it, I am highly pleased with the desk it was well worth the money.
